Catch Basin and Litter Cleanup

Looking for a way to give back to your community and have fun at the same time? Join your neighbours for a Community Catch Basin and Litter Cleanup. During autumn, when leaves fall from the trees all at once, street flooding can occur if the leaves block the catch basins. Keeping catch basins clear is easy, and only takes a few minutes each time. But it goes a long way in keeping neighbourhoods safe by ensuring that rain flows freely through catch basins and out to receiving bodies of water like Burrard Inlet. We will provide rakes for clearing leaves, pickers and garbage bags to pick up litter, and refreshments for participants at the end of the event. You can also sign up to adopt your own catch basin.
