DOUGLAS PARK COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

JOIN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our Board of Directors play a significant role in determining the type of programs and services we offer.
We continue to seek new Board Members and community members that would like to become involved. Participate in expanding program services, organizing events, fundraising, facility and park improvements, and addressing community needs.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, Community Members are welcome to attend and participate in various sub-committees such as: Program, Facilities, Park Improvement/Playground, and Festival.

To be eligible to serve as a Board of Director you must:

– Be 19+ years of age
– Have been a member for at least one month
– Submitted your nomination no later than 15 days before the Annual General Meeting (third Wednesday of each November)

Board Meetings occur on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, from September-June. On average, a committee requires two hours of service per month.

Volunteer, join a committee and share your ideas!

DOUGLAS PARK COMMUNITY CENTRE NEEDS ASSESSMENT

Under the JOA community associations are responsible to do a needs assessment every 5 years.

In July 2011, PERC was retained by the DPCA to undertake a community needs assessment survey in the Douglas Park area to help identify directions concerning the future allocation of resources for services, staffing, and facility development.

The findings of the assessment will be used to help prepare for the development of a five-year strategic plan to align with the Vancouver Park Board’s new strategic plan.
