This program is designed to introduce skills in a number of different ball sports. Games and skills are taught in a fun and creative manner by using story lines to encourage participation. All programs are non-competitive and focus on success while building confidence. In order to limit equipment sharing in programs, each child will be provided with a Sportball equipment pack on the first day of programming. This pack must be brought to class each week. The equipment is included in the registration fee and is yours to keep once the program is done.

Sportball Outdoor Soccer programs introduce fundamental concepts of game play and teach the basic skills required to bend it like Beckham in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Kids on Wheels Junior Balance Bike Camp 2-3 yrs
BC Cycling Coalition
This week-long camp is designed to introduce young children to the joy of cycling! In this camp we’ll mainly focus on getting the children comfortable on balance bikes and wearing helmets, provide tips to parents on how to fit a balance bike to their children and practice important skills such as stopping, riding, balancing, and gliding. We’ll also read some biking books and sing songs. Balance bikes help children to gain confidence, and improve their self esteem and risk management. This camp is designed for beginner and intermediate riders and parent/caregiver participation is required. Due to COVID-19 only one parent/caregiver is allowed with each child. If possible please bring your child wearing a helmet already and children are invited to bring their own balance bikes. If needed we can provide a bike and a helmet for the duration of the camp.

Kids on Wheels Balance Bike Camp 3-5 yrs
BC Cycling Coalition
This week-long camp is designed for all levels of balance bike riders and is packed with fun cycling activities! Our skilled instructors will design an interactive riding course for the children to explore every day. Through fun games and riding around the course we will be practicing important skills such as stopping, balancing, and gliding. We will also introduce some road signs and safety rules of the road. When not on the bikes we will read books, do some art activities and practice pumping tubes in our cool mechanic corner. Children are expected to be able to stay without parents/caregivers for the duration of the camp. If possible please bring your child wearing a helmet already to help minimize instructor-child physical contact due to COVID-19. Children are invited to bring their own balance bikes too. If needed we can provide a bike and a helmet for the duration of the camp.

Let’s go diving and finding many wonderful creatures in the ocean. Kids will create paintings with watery scenes of the Ocean. Learning to paint, draw and color and create 3D art. This art camp provides children with fun ways to engage their creative minds through visual art activities. Art supplies are included. A fun and foundational acting class where we will play theatre games, create and perform skits, and plays. We will focus on fostering a love of acting and build confidence in performing in front of others by creating a fun and safe environment that allows students to flourish. Open to all ages boys and girls. Come and play street hockey with coach Ronnie! Bring your lunch, water and sunscreen. Classes are held outdoors on the Douglas Park basketball courts, please dress accordingly. Safety goggles will be provided and mandatory. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own sticks. Plastic and aluminum sticks are available to borrow. Please note: Child has to have completed Kindergarten to participate in this program.We play 3 games a day. Dreaming of a career with PIXAR’ Ever wonder how those awesome 3D animated movies like Shrek, Toy Story and Frozen are made’ Spend the week learning how by modeling, animating and telling your own stories in 3D. You’ll use Blender, a wonderful (& free!) 3D software, to design characters that jump off the screen and then make them come alive by adding voices, soundtracks and completing your own animated short film. Students will also have opportunities to lead their peers, solo, and improvise while learning rhythms inspired by musical traditions around the world, from West African Gahu, to Japanese Taiko, to Brazilian Samba. If taking pictures is a passion of yours then join us as we dive deeper into the art of creating beautiful photographs using smartphone cameras. This introductory course is composed of lectures, outdoor photo walks, and constructive photo critiques focusing on the fundamentals of photography. Bring your smartphone to each class and dress for the weather as most of the class will be outside.

Pickleball – Recreational 55+ yrs

Pickleball is a combination of Ping-Pong, tennis, and badminton and has been enjoyed for over 20 years by people of all ages. This mini-tennis game is played by 2 people on a badminton-sized court using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly baseball with holes. This is for the beginner or recreational player and not for those that are competitive or advanced. There are only 4 spots available and you are only allowed to play singles if all 4 participants attend. We recommend that you register with a partner. Please bring your own racquet and ball. No session July 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, August 2 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13.
