Hello from the Douglas Park Community Association!

Our new playground will soon be completed for all to enjoy. Thank you to Park Board and the Douglas Park Playground Committee for the countless hours invested in this project. The playground features a zip line, swings, sand and water play areas, a custom tree platform, and a beaver dam. Douglas Park Community Association donated $480,000 to help cover the $759,056 cost. Thank you to the Douglas Park community for your contributions.

We have an active fall planned at Douglas Park with a pre-teen dance Oct 26th, Halloween Party Oct 27th, Breakfast with Santa Dec 1st, and our Annual General Meeting Wed. Nov 21st.
Due to the growing number of families in the Douglas Park neighbourhood, we have seen a demand for more mom/parent & infant/tot drop-in type programs. We are excited to launch our NEW Douglas Dinos Playroom Group led by Shivonne Prasad, one of our fabulous and talented teachers from the Douglas Park Licensed Preschool located downstairs. The program is designed to help prepare kids for preschool. The Douglas Dinos Playroom will be offered Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:00am and 1:00pm in our newly retro-fitted Laurel room. Other new programs this fall include Stroller Fitness, Yoga Buddies for Preschoolers, Musical Theatre (3-13yrs), new Pottery Programs, Wellness Prescription for Seniors, and so much more!

On Saturday, June 23 we hosted our annual Douglas Park Community Day celebration which by all accounts was our most successful yet. A special thank you to our staff for a fabulous day. The event featured DPCA programs, main stage entertainment and community groups. We would like to thank our event sponsors.

Thank you also to our volunteers, staff, instructors and board members. Your daily contributions are reflected in the success and warmth of our community centre.
