The “Digital and Media Literacy: How to Identify Misinformation” Workshop is a comprehensive 1-2 hour course for seniors interested in learning how to differentiate between facts, opinions, biases, and misinformation found on social media and the news. Students will gain a better understanding of some of the influences behind posts they see on news networks and social media platforms such as Facebook. This workshop is a perfect introduction for those that want to improve their digital and media literacy! Through a deep dive into social media posts and news articles, students will learn how to spot telltale signs of trustworthy and untrustworthy sources of information, cutting through the noise.
