Douglas Park Licensed School Age Care
All of our programs are currently full. Please contact the front office or Rosie at 604-257-8134 to put your child on the ongoing waitlist. Douglas Park strives to offer quality care in an environment that offers children a safe, nurturing place for them to socialize and participate in programmed activities.
We only offer care to children attending Emily Carr Elementary School and Edith Cavell Elementary School. Children are picked up at their school and walked back to the community centre. We only offer fulltime spaces (Mon-Fri).
Current PROGRAM FEES
Aftercare Only (Mon-Fri) – $465/month
Aftercare + Morning Care (Mon-Fri) – $575/month
After Care 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Morning Care 7:30am – 9:00am
Our fees include scheduled school Professional Day coverage and Early Dismissals. Winter Break Camp, Spring Break Camp, District Closure Camp and Summer Camp are all a separate internal priority registration with an additional cost to the monthly fee. Morning Care is only available to those who have an Aftercare space.

Douglas Park Community Association Before and After School Care
Edith Cavell Elementary– Re-opening September 3, 2024
Douglas Park Community Association has been actively working with the Vancouver School Board and licensing to re-open before and after school childcare onsite at Edith Cavell Elementary . We are excited to announce that the program will re-open on September 3rd, 2024.
Like many of you, we desperately hoped our program could re-open during the current school year. Unfortunately, the process has been very challenging and in multiple respects out of our control. We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience. Families already on the DPCA waitlist will be contacted this spring to confirm their child’s spot for September. Thereafter, we will begin to onboard new families for the September 3, 2024 start date.

Kindercare 2024-2025 Registration
Registration is ONLINE only on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 7pm.
This registration is only for children registering into Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.
Your child must be born in 2019. If your child is born in 2018 and is registering for Kindergarten, please contact us by email in advance of this registration. This registration is only for the Kindergarten year.
If your child does not get a Kindercare space at this time, you will need to contact Douglas Park in May 2025 to go on the Gr. 1 and Up ongoing waitlist for Emily Carr and Edith Cavell.
There is a $100 refundable deposit paid at time of registration if you are successful in securing a spot. This is refunded at time of withdrawal. There are 10 spots available for children registered in Kindergarten at Emily Carr and 10 spots available for children registered in Kindergarten at Edith Cavell.
Current afterschool care families that have a Kindergarten sibling starting in September 2024, will have priority registration on these spaces. This is completed prior to this registration date.
If your child is waitlisted to get a spot in the school, you are able to hold onto your Kindercare spot until June 30, 2024. If at that time, your child has not been accepted into the school, you will need to give up your Kindercare spot and your $100 deposit will be refunded back to you.
You will receive a welcome email in July to come pick up your Kindercare Registration Packages
There is no Morning Care registration. If your child secures a Kindercare space and you require Morning Care, you will indicate this in the registration package(additional monthly fee).
