Douglas Park Community Association (“DPCA”) is grateful to operate on the unceded, ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil Waututh Nations.
Community Day is Saturday, June 21, from 11-3 pm. Please join us for an afternoon of food, games, and community performances on the East Field. June 21 is also National Indigenous Peoples Day. As part of Community Day, DPCA will be recognizing and honouring the cultures and contributions of Indigenous communities.
Prior to 2023, the summer wading pool at Douglas Park was funded by DPCA. DPCA would like to acknowledge and thank the Vancouver Park Board for taking over funding this program for a third summer. The wading pool opens on July 2. Please see the brochure for hours. DPCA playground leaders will be there to provide a variety of activities, games, crafts, and theme days for the little ones.
Drop by the park on Thursday evenings this summer for a free concert with our Performance in the Park series.
After 28 years working in various roles with DPCA, we are sad to announce (but happy for her!) that DPCA’s childcare coordinator Rosie Laforges is leaving Douglas Park to take on the role of a recreation programmer at her local community centre in Squamish. Rosie has been integral to the Douglas Park team and the heart of our licensed childcare operation. We will miss her dearly and wish her all the best.
Thank you to all the DPCA volunteers, board members, DPCA and Vancouver Park Board staff, and the Vancouver Park Board.
Enjoy your summer!
Christine Coleman
President, Douglas Park Community Association
